You’re not alone if you sometimes get discouraged, uncertain, or stuck-in-place when you grapple with persistent and complex societal problems. Here’s a thought-provoking article by Becca Dove and Tim Fisher in the Stanford Social Innovation Review. The authors are two self-professed “relational activists”, and they share several really interesting and hopeful examples of relational activism in action. Photo by J W on Unsplash.
Before the Negotiation workshop, I would have not even considered asking for further compensation outside of the contract—even though I worked many more hours than agreed upon in order to meet the clients growing needs for the project. With my new tools, I was able to directly and simply ask my clients if there was more money available in the budget. They came back with a resounding YES and a re-negotiation totaling $4,500.

Thank you for your excellent workshop facilitation at the Legislative Summit. Many people approached me during the week to say how much they enjoyed the session and that they made great connections with other participants. I certainly appreciate the time you took to research, understand, and tailor the workshop to our audience, and we'd love to work with you again!
The Moxie experience has been profound. I have learned to define genuine leadership as something that comes from an authentic place deep inside of me. I have become aware of how much my natural inclination to nurture can be leveraged to enhance collaborative leadership. Perhaps most important of all, I have begun to trust and embrace my existing leadership skills and find fulfillment in using them well.

Executive coaching with Sara brought me clarity as well as courage. Sara's coaching included both the feedback from my colleagues in the 360 assessment and her own insights and knowledge about leaders in systems. For me that combination is powerful, motivating and change-making!

Sara Lawson is possibly the most skilled facilitator I have ever worked with...
Moxie exceeded my expectations! From Sara’s gifted hospitality to skilled facilitation and coaching, she (and the fabulous group of women she brought together) helped me to become more authentically and fully myself in my life and leadership.
In a world of glorified busy-ness and scheduling nightmares, it is a rare gift to dedicate time to sitting around a table with a group of smart, sassy women to explicitly focus on ourselves and one another. Sara has a gift for guiding individuals and groups, balancing fun, playful exploration with deep, heartfelt introspection.
"Moxie" was exactly what I was looking for: an introduction to a broader community of smart professional women, and an injection of energy and inspiration around the work I'm doing. It was a catalyst for me, and I now have greater clarity about exactly what my skills and strengths are, along with concrete ideas about how to build on them.
Sara was a pleasure to work with as she designed and implemented a 1.5-day program that was very helpful to both new and experienced board members… She stretched us; she worked us hard and we appreciated it very much.
Sara’s engaging and interactive presentations provided strategies to improve board effectiveness, practical techniques to navigate difficult conversations, and a primer in fundraising… Reading the evaluations, it was clear that the attendees found the experience to be valuable, energizing and highly beneficial.
